i wanna believe that they'll be more times like these

Christmas time for me isn't all about getting. its more about the time I  have to spend time with my family. don't get me wrong I still love running downstairs on Christmas morning excited to see the presents under the tree. This past Christmas was much the same as its always been getting up, and drinking coffee. while one by one we would open up our gifts from each other. I had a suprise gift this past year from my parents and that was a Nikon D3000 camera.
but like I said my favorite part of Christmas has been the time I was able to spend with my family. I was especially thankful for the sweet memories I was able to capture. Especially the ones of my families get together, from hugs walking through the doors, homemade sweet potatoes, opening of presents, to the sipping of coffee with family while the end of the day was near and the lights of the tree and the spirit of love filled the room.
I am thankful for those memories especially because I can hold on to them forever. This coming Christmas has changes, my nana passed away this past April and she has always been the reason family get togethers were so special for me, she would always have the cutest outfit on, she seemed to take forever to unwrap gifts also being that she had over 100 to open, and how she would always make faces at you just to make you smile. Im thankful for all the years that I was able to enjoy having her there. Even though shes gone, now I have the memories and she will always be in my heart.

I am excited to see what is to come this holiday season but I am more excited for the new memories I get to make, the family traditions and the memories that I get to look back upon.
Happy Hollidays!
