Sailboat

First off, this blog is not about a Sailboat... I am currently listening to Sailboat by Ben Rector. This song honestly describes my life and how I don't know where life is going to take me, so right now I feel like a sailboat.
you guys should really listen :)

so...... back to the main part of this blogpost..

This weekend was full of adventure, and A LOT OF HOMEWORK.
Early morning I went to Panther town for a day of hiking and waterfalls with one of my best friends Simms. Im 100% sure we spent more time trying to find Panther town than actually hiking. Everyone we asked told us different directions, and the worst part was our GPS wasn't even helpful. After finally getting there, we hiked for a little while till we reached the waterfall and on the way to the water I ACTUALLY PEED MY PANTS, I laughed so hard at Simms trying to get down these steep hills, because I always try to make my own path even if that means climbing up some steep hill of rocks or running down wet patches of mud.

Simms and I LITERALLY talked about this trip all week, not only because we were going hiking but we went to Mellow Mushroom in Asheville after. A Mighty Meaty pizza was the best way to end the day of hiking. Once I got home I had plans to go to my friends cabin and spend the night with some of my best friends, on the way home I didn't recognize really where we were, come to find out we were headed to Greenville, SC. So I hopped in the drivers seat and now on an hour and a half drive back to Cullowhee. Totally worth the extra miles because I had some of the greatest conversations with one of my best friends.

Sunday was one of the craziest days of my life, so my friend Sophie fell down some stairs, and we embarked on a 4 hour trip to the hospital, the crazy thing is that when she fell she scraped her face and it was in the shape of a heart. the first thing that came out of her mouth when she saw the mark on her face was, "Jesus Loves Me". Luckily she wasn't seriously hurt and that we found humor in the whole day even in the Dunkin Donuts drive thru; to the point where we were all in tears laughing.

Sunday after our trip to the hospital consisted of Starbucks and finishing my geography paper about Place Ethnography. I interviewed Everett Warren who is a medical student at UNC- Chapel Hill. He went to Tanzania this past summer and had the opportunity to deliver babies. I interviewed him on his experience in a place different from where he lives, and what he got out of his trip there.

This week is the first football game against The Citadel, and I am in charge of helping run Catamount Nation, which is a student organization that supports athletic events on campus. I will also be visiting the Skyland Care Assisted Living Center this week to set up my schedule for volunteering this semester once a week.
